Here is a copy of the email I have sent to my first unsigned artist choice - "Emma's Imagination"



However it was decided the song was too slow & the artist never replied, I also had trouble in finding a way to download the song without buying it and I could not find the lyrics. I have decided to scrap this idea and search for a faster paced song so I can show more evidence of editing in my video.

Spike Jonze Study

"Spike Jonze (born Adam Spiegel) is an American director and producer, whose work includes music videos, commercials, film and television.
He also co-founded Directors Label with filmmakers Chris Cunningham and Michel Gondry."

In 2006, he was nominated by the Directors Guild of America for "Outstanding Achievement in Commercials in 2005."
He was nominated for a body of work that included 'Hello Tomorrow' for Adidas, 'Lamp' for IKEA, and 'Pardon Our Dust' for The Gap.
He was a producer and co-creator of MTV television series Jackass and Jackass: The Movie, also directing some of the segments. Jonze has acted in some videos and films therefore demonstrating the use of Auteur Theory; his most prominent role was in Three Kings as the sweet, dimwitted, casually racist Conrad.

In this video I admire the time and care given to produce a stop-motion piece using lego pieces, I find it a very clever and quirky idea to represent performance.
However, after much consideration of whether I should do stop-motion for my video, I decided against using this technique as I feel it would be too time consuming to construct and film.
